Homemade Fries!

These are SO much and SO EASY!!
My Daddy taught me to make these-When I was a teenager I didn't know that you could do something like this at home....These are very yummy!
You can peel them OR just scrub them and leave the skins on. You can also use sweet potatoes!!
Cut taters into thin strips or wedges or whatever shape you want
Get your pan of oil REALLY HOT! Then drop your fries into the HOT grease (we use lard)
Wait until they get golden then remove with a metal slotted spoon.
Drain on a plate of paper towels. Using a crinkle cutter gets a fun edge.

A great way to use up milk if you have an abundance is....
Pudding Cake!!
 Pudding Cake Recipe:
First of all put crushed graham crackers in the bottom of your 9x13 inch pan.
Then....
1 Gallon Whole Milk
** Heat in large pot over medium heat
In a big bowl mix all together...
1 1/2 c. Sugar

1 t. salt
 8 whole eggs
1 c. cream -if cream is unavailable then milk will work
2 T. Vanilla
Stir up REALLY GOOD...I always use a whisk and beat and beat and beat!! ;)
When Milk is hot to the touch-NOT BOILING- Add a little of the hot milk to your egg mixture. Add egg/milk mixture back to the hot milk and Whisk, whisk, Whisk!!
Keep Whisking until pudding is Thick-When it is thick it is done :)
 Homemade Whipped Cream!! MmMmM
1 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
**Beat heavy cream until almost stiff- add sugar and vanilla; Beat until cream holds peaks.
Be sure to lick your fingers!
Layer your graham crackers in first then spread pudding for layer #2. Let cool completely
Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate chips or however YOU want to decorate it :0)
Proverbs 15:18-21:
18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

New Dresses

Would you ever guess that this dress was once an old sheet?
Well....It was and now it is a very loved dress! I like to use McCall's and Simplicity patterns.
Very basic dress...It is amazing what a little ruffle here and there will do!
Another new dress for my dear daughter...I put Eyelet lace in between the bodice and the skirt part and then did a tiered skirt instead of the basic just to change things up ;)

I have learned SOOOO much about sewing from my Big Sister! One of her favorite sayings is...
"Just DO IT!!" Thank you Sis for all that you have taught me...LOVE YOU!!

Sewing Baby Clothes!

My Beautiful Sister, new Niece, and I
This is the dress I made for my new niece- I used a basic dress pattern-and made it look fancy by adding a gather at the bottom-little girl clothes are SO much FUN to make!! I don't like messing with the neck facing..so I just used bias tape.
Isn't she Beautiful!!

Stromboli, It's whats for dinner...tonight!

You start out with a bread...We use our honey whole wheat recipe (On this site under a different post) but you could also use YOUR favorite bread recipe OR Frozen bread dough thawed would work fine too (I haven't tried it but i don't know why it wouldn't work!)

Roll out your dough into a rectangle shape...oh, probably about 1/4 inch thick or so. We brush the dough with a layer of mustard...if you don't like mustard then you don't have to use anything

Then fill it with whatever you want- we used pizza toppings: Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, sauteed onions, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese. You could do anything...I want to try a rueben filling with sauerkraut, meat and swiss. The possibilities are ENDLESS! (you could even think breakfast and use hashbrowns, eggs, sausage or bacon(or both!)

Then roll it up and tuck in the ends... brush the top with a beaten egg (only for a nice finish look to it...not necessary if you prefer not to) Sprinkle Garlic salt and parmesan, italian seasoning, parsley.

Put in a warm oven (170*F) for about 10 min or so then turn up to 350*F for about 20 min or until goldem

MMMMM, doesn't that look wonderful! like I said you could really stuff it with anything- we serve this one with mustard and sauerkraut.

"But thanks be to GOD! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

My New Favorite Cleaner!

Do you want your oven to look like this??

And NOT this?

I found out about this stuff at a friends house. It cleans and polishes:

Kitchen: stainless steel, cookware, sinks, cook tops, non-stone counter tops, ceramic, porcelain, and copper.

Bathroom: sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, faucets, tile and grout.

Outdoor: Removes plant stains and pollution grime from hard surfaces. Erases rust stains from concrete, masonry, and grout. Removes break dust from wheels. Cleans siding, boats, bikes, grills, tools and sports equipment.
The name of this wonderful product is....

The Bar Keepers Friend!

I personally have only used it on our Stainless Steel Pots and to clean tough stains off our oven.

It doesn't have a strong smell (I didn't smell anything) and gentle on hands. I got it at Wal*Mart in the same isle as the comet and other cleansers

WOW! I can actually see through the glass on our oven now!! It didn't hardly take any effort to get that caked on grease off! Now the sides of the oven too a little more effort... but I think that was only because of the angle I was at. It was still pretty easily removed.

To help keep it nice and clean I put down some heavy duty foil on the bottom.

~

Try it on your oven and let me know what you think!
